Job Description

Length of Assignment: Full-Time Contract until March 31, 2013

Description of Project or Company/Organization:
Calian is pleased to be a part of Canada’s healthcare industry. Our dynamic healthcare teams consist of more than 500 professionals providing healthcare services coast-to-coast at over 30 locations in Canada.
 
Through our Health Service Support Contract with the Department of National Defense, Calian’s healthcare professionals work in partnership with military healthcare teams providing primary care to today’s Canadian Forces.

Job Description:
•             Manages and participates in immunization and travel medicine instructions
•             Manages and participates in desensitization clinics
•             Performs screening for tuberculosis and/or other illnesses
•             Assesses individual needs for, and provides education and counseling related to the Prevention of health disorders and the maintenance of quality of life when health is impaired
•             Attends Care Delivery Unit (CDU) clinics that support and guide Canadian Forces (CF) members affected by similar health conditions, documents and makes recommendations for outside referrals
•             Liaises and collaborates with the Infection Control representatives on issues influencing CDU rostered member’s health
•             Participates in the management of outcome data on population health and assists in the extrapolation of health trends pertaining to individual CDU’s

Mandatory Qualifications:
•             Candidate must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in Alberta
•             Must have experience with immunization and desensitization programs
•             Must have experience in health promotion and counselling activities
