| Job Title: FACILITY OPERATIONS MANAGER for recreational ice sports facility-Edmonton |

Well established sports facility management company.
THE OPPORTUNITY
SCOPE:
The role is responsible for all aspects of facility building maintenance and ice production operations including ice maintenance, flooding, refrigeration plant operation, janitorial and building maintenance duties, scheduling, supervising and training of staff, ordering supplies & equipment, and following budgets & costs. This is a hands on management role – actively involved in day to day operations. This position reports to the Facility General Manager and is a key member of the facility management team.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
Establish flood schedules, edging schedules and general ice maintenance needs.
Staff scheduling for both Ice Technicians and Janitorial staff
Strong customer service aptitude which is seen in their respective team
Coordinate the preventative maintenance and repairs of all equipment & the facility
Maintain the company assets on the database.
Supplies inventory, purchasing and control
Expense management
Budgeting in line with the annual AOP
Hiring, coaching and discipline of staff in a positive employee relations environment.
Ensure a safe working environment and a safe customer environment for the whole facility.
Additional Responsibilities:
Flexible to work days, evenings and weekends

QUALIFICATIONS/KEY REQUIREMENTS
Note: As a member of the facility Management Team, this position requires a police background check and clearance with respect to persons working with vulnerable persons.
Must have 2-3 years experience supervising people.
Must have 3-4 years on ice maintenance and ice painting.
A good understanding of Zamboni operation and repair.
A good understanding of H.V.A.C. operation & maintenance.
All round knowledge of mechanical equipment and facility maintenance.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
Must have minimum Grade 12 Secondary School Education or equivalent.
Equivalent of BC 5th Class Refrigeration Certification and Arena Attendant 1&2 or equivalent certificates.
Must have good people and communication skills.
Computer skills, comfortable with MS Office.
Honest and hard working.
