Job Title: ACCOUNT DEVELOPMENT MANAGER, Valves, Actuators & Associated Flow Control Products-Calgary
Description

THE OPPORTUNITY

The Account Development Manager develops, cultivates, and manages relationships with key customers. Within a base of prospects, the Manager will help to identify and qualify new business opportunities. Within a base of clients, the Manager will promote customer satisfaction and loyalty by demonstrating an understanding of customers’ critical business issues and delivering products and services that help clients meet their current and future business objectives. The role is accountable for achieving growth in revenue and profitability at assigned accounts.  Travel is required. 

Key Responsibilities
- Develop a strategic plan that insures growth at selected accounts
- Develop a strategic approach to account management and customer relations
- Construct and implement profitable long term account plans. Develop these account strategies with the support of Sales Management and Marketing
- Build stronger value added customer relationships leading to increased revenues. Complete this by developing an understanding of clients’ business issues and how to apply our products and services to develop strong value propositions. Essentially generating increased revenues from existing clients by promoting additional products and services for future projects.
- Identify current project lists in order to establish future growth whilst also enabling the sales team to drive early-stage opportunities through the pipeline.
- Develop relationships with high level procurement and engineering managers whilst maintaining quality relationships to retain clients and win referrals to new clients.
- Understand the company product portfolio, the Valve and Actuation market and the industry in general
- Demonstrate an in depth knowledge of assigned industry(ies)
- Work with regional sales managers to ensure that we are achieving promotable product market share in assigned geographic areas and expanding market penetration in additional market or project areas.
- Insure that key company products appear on the customer AML and coordinate product presentations and testing for the customer to make that happen.
- Review, revise and ensure maintenance of company products on customer specification sheets and with internal sales and marketing groups


COMPENSATION

A competitive compensation package which includes salary in the $100K to $130K range plus 30% bonus.


QUALIFICATIONS/KEY REQUIREMENTS

- Bachelors Degree in a technical subject or equivalent technical experience.
- The ideal candidate for this role will have 7-10 years of relevant experience in business development, direct sales, or sales management.  Other candidates may have held a previous position in product management, technical sales support, or application engineering. 
- Ability to effectively establish and maintain relationships at a high level with a major customer.
- Demonstrated experience selling in existing and new markets, with a proven record in acquiring new large projects or customers.
