Atkinson Design is currently looking to fill the following position for our client in their Quebec/Minnesota office….
Position: Bilingual Technical Hydro/Energy Project Manager
Location: Quebec/Minnesota
Role: (Full time)

This role will require the successful candidate to travel between Quebec and Minnesota on a regular basis. The successful candidate will have an energy or hydro background and be responsible for the technical project management. An engineering degree is not necessary but would be an asset. Key in this position is the ability to manage a large project and to be fully fluent in Quebec French.
This will be a temp to permanent hire for the right candidate however you must be willing to start on a contract basis for a period of 3 to 6 months. This position will have an immediate start.
Responsibilities:
The ideal candidate will be responsible to develop and assure the administering of the project where it is ensure there is:
Ø respecting the contract established and validated during the magazine of contract
Ø improving the profitability of the project
Ø ensuring the satisfaction of the client
Ø adhering to resources and procedures of the company (quality, flux of information, circuit of validation, interface)
The role of the project manager:
Lead:
Ø Relieve Vente service for formalisation and explicitation of the need of the client in internal data (schedule of contract – initiated AMDEC)
Ø Initialize plan, to organise it in touch with the contributors indicated plans, to define milestones and corresponding stages of validation
Ø Define with the support of Planning means / long term monitoring of the Master plan
and to assure the its being met by the coordination and monitoring between Master planning and planning scheduling (anticipate and highlight/communicate variances)
Ø Control the respect for objectives validated during the stage of definition of plan (in schedule of contract – Analysis of differences, Offer / contract and status VECTRA / FRT of launching of plan)
Ø Analyse risks of plan and to assure the deployment of appropriate measures: preventive / corrective actions (finalised AMDEC)
Ø Assure and to participate in the workmanship of the budget and of different jobs to perform (Technology, Production, Purchase).
Co-ordinate :
Ø Validate the results of every key stage of plan defined in schedule of contract (conception, manufacture, validation, logistics)
Ø Take measures intended to assure the respect for the quality of process and for finished products, as well as coherence between different interventions (BE, Method, Planning)
Ø Manage the monitoring of the activity of resources appointed to plan by organising schedule of plan
Ø Prepare files and points of progress for the Committee of Piloting of the Animer plan
Manage:
Ø Display the methodologies of monitoring of plan (notably by enforcing Hand book provided by company)
Ø Define a plan of communication (definite Communication)
Ø Meetings and schedule (of plans, planning, monitoring of budget (FSC), monitoring of the actions of the contributors) inherent at different stages of validation of plan with the actors and contributors of plan
to Mobilise the hierarchic, operational and functional aspects
Qualifications:
The successful candidate requires knowledge and or experience in the market of hydro or energy. A Bachelor's of Science Degree in engineering or technical diploma/background is preferred but not mandatory . A minimum of 5 years project management experience is a must .

Ø display initiative, information seeking, personal leadership, and achievement motivation as well as, teamwork and collaboration.
Ø **willingness and availability to travel between Quebec and Minnesota on a regular basis is a must**
Ø must have either Canadian or American citizenship to get over the boarder on a regular basis
Ø all travel and lodging fees will be paid by client along with a weekly per diem
