| Job Title: Health Care Aide (10 Vacancies) |
| Description |
| We require Health Care Aides to work in Personal and Special Care Homes in Edmonton, AB. which are contracted through Alberta Health Services Supportive Living. You should possess the following qualifations & training:
- Health Care Aid Certificate
- CPR First Aid Certificate
- Minimum of High School Diploma
- Some College/CEGEP/vocational or technical training
- Security Clearance
- Experience in Caring for the Mentally & Physically Ill, Elderly & Brain Injured
- Ability to speak and write english fluently
Job Description
- work in 2 special care homes and 7 personal care homes
- provide personal care for 6 clients with mental & physical illnesses, brain injured, and the elderly, and clients with behavioural and personality disorders
- assiting with client care needs such as (bathing, dressing, feeding, toileting & lifting)
- administering prescribed medications
- documentation of client's daily progress
- housekeeping (maintain general cleanliness of the home on a shift basis)
- participation in clinets individual care plans
- communication with other disciplines (physicians, pharmacist, O.T. and R.T. therapists, & Alberta Health Care Services Coordinator)
- Preparation of 3 Meals per day for 6 clients in accordance with the Canadian Food Guide
Other
Staff should be understanding, assetive, compassionate, maintain client's dignity, self-respect, promote self-confidence, self-esteem for clients and be able to show empathy.
Wages
$12.00 - $15.00 per hour
